Your transitions are an important and often overlooked aspect when preparing for a triathlon. It needs to start weeks and perhaps months before your race. Visualizing how you are going to move and transition between your three sports can reduce unnecessary loss in time as well as build confidence.
The night before your race, take the time to check your bike, making sure everything is in good working order. Top your tires up in the evening and check them again in the morning. This is well worth the time it takes, as most flat tires are actually slow leaks that were missed.
